Rambler 3-in-1 Mantel

This coat is worth every penny. The quality is exceptional, it’s extremely well insulated and there are so many clever features built in. So good we bought two!

We bought it for winter so haven't used it yet, but the quality looks great and it feels nice and warm for winter. We sized up and it already fits well (although obviously bulky) thanks to the adjustable sleeve length. I am very confident we will use it for 2 winters! Overall very happy with the purchase.

Really love the look and feel of this coat - I bought it for my 2 (almost 3) year old in size 3-4, and although it's a bit big for him, the fit is mostly good and I think it will last. I really like the ability to make the sleeves shorter. I bought it just before the new year when it was very cold, and it was perfect despite being marked as mid weight. It seems to me much warmer than other toddler coats I've come across.

HOWEVER: I have one issue with the coat - which I think is worth taking note of. Toddlers this age are often taught to put their coats on by putting them on the floor and flipping them over their head. This is very difficult for my son to do with this coat when it has the lining in because he puts his hand into the lining and misses the sleeves. He calls it 'tricky' coat, and prefers to wear his Puddle Buster raincoat because he can put it on for himself. As it's spring(ish), I've taken out the lining, but he's still mistrustful of it!

I think this is potentially a hard problem to design around, but worth flagging as I otherwise really like it.

The jacket is very warm and feels like great quality. We bought it for our 21-month-old daughter in size 2–3 years. Unfortunately, the proportions seem a bit off. The body fits quite snuggly—almost too snug if she’s wearing a jumper underneath—while the arms are disproportionately long, even when using the buttons to shorten them. The biggest issue for us was how tight the sleeves were. Because of that, we ended up returning it. It’s a lovely jacket overall, but the fit just didn’t work for us."

Lovely coat. I bought a size up as I want to use it for 2 winters. The adjustable sleeve feature was a game changer for my little one"s short arms. If it runs a bit large, the removable vest helps to tighten it. Highly recommended"

Absolutely amazing coat, never had or seen a better coat for a kid! Made with lots of thought and every detail has been carefully planned and crafted. So lovely bought a second one for my nine year old so he can wear it once his first gets passed down to his brother. One if the very few things when 3 in 1 makes sense and works. My boys love gilets on their own to wear indoors in autumn/winter it under any other coat too. Outstanding quality, thank you! I do not often write reviews but could not resist and do not really understand people giving it less then 5 stars! It is the best ever coat!"

I really loved this coat, the gilet was great and the coat was so snuggly. The only problem I had, and it’s put me off buying this year, is the hood is so padded with fleece it doesn’t fit on my son’s head, so his forehead always got cold, or the hood was taken off by him as his head was too squished. "

A well made coat but like other reviewers we have found it tight around the chest / arms. There comes a point where you have to choose between taking out the lining or wearing fewer layers underneath."

Lovely looking, warm coat. Disappointed to find that removable hood is attached by poppers (too easy to come off), but more importantly, it let’s rain water coming off the hood down gaps inside the neck of the coat - therefore not waterproof when out in bad weather, as we discovered the other day. Still use it and like it, but it’s quite a big design flaw for a winter coat in the UK. "

A really lovely coat - super cosy and looks great. The hood however isn’t great - the shape is a bit odd and only covers half of my daughter’s head (whether she has her hair up or down) - so the front half of her head gets very wet! A shame as otherwise it would be perfect. "

I’m very happy with the quality, it’s very well made as all Frugi items. I’m disappointed with the size of the arms, they’re tight so only a t-shirt can be worn under. Arms are long for 1 to 2 year old size as we know toddlers have short arms at this stage! "

I"ve put it comes up a little small but considering my child is almost 5 and fits into 6-7 jackets usually, I bought an 8-9;to have it loose and also so it lasts 2 winters. He can"t wear a knitted cardigan under it because it"s too snug. It"s very small made and arms are very narrow. I do love it though, but I wouldn"t recommend it or but again tbh."

Absolutely beautiful coat, super practical, has kept my daughter warm and dry on the half hour walk to school in the wind and rain. The only annoying thing is the hood doesn’t accommodate for a pony tail. The elastic is great in keeping it up but only covers half my daughter head when her hair is up (which has to be the case for school unfortunately). Other than that it’s perfect. I got size 7-8, my daughter is 5 but the size of a 6/7 year old. "

This was one of 2 bought. Lovely coat. Bought a bigger size as it is for grandchildren for when they stay. Bought 2 ages, the older grandson has already worn his and it was great. Good to have something where the inner can be removed. The zip is very strong. Will last well."
